Eyes on target
Eyes on target With wings spread wide, the osprey glides on the breath of the evening, its sharp eyes fixated on the waters of Paramaribo's coast. The fading light of dusk casts a serene glow over the scene, but for the sea hawk, it's a bustling time of opportunity as the ocean whispers tales of hidden prey. A silent mantra in the cool air. Shot near Brantimakaweg in Paramaribo, Suriname on December 3, 2023 at 6:11 PM local time.
The osprey was spotted at the coast north from South America. Screenshot taken from Apple Maps on December 7, 2023 at 12:45 AM Suriname time.

Emerged from a dive
Just emerged from a dive without a catch. Distracted by a human behind, it watches for a bit and then went on its task just before the sun sets in Paramaribo on a Sunday afternoon. Shot near Brantimakaweg in Paramaribo, Suriname on December 3, 2023 at 6:07 PM local time.

Steadfast
Steadfast As twilight embraced the sky, an osprey alighted upon a weathered post, its gaze steady amidst the churning waters below. There was no catch yet, but it stood resolute, the embodiment of wild patience. Shot near Brantimakaweg in Paramaribo, Suriname on December 3, 2023 at 6:14 PM local time.

I’ve read from a source that these birds don’t breed in South America, but many of these birds migrate from North America to spend the winter in more southern regions.
